ONTARIO VENUES TO COLLECT SOCKS FOR LOCAL HOMELESS
ONTARIO – (November 16, 2022) As we near the busy holiday season the following locations in Ontario will be crusading for socks! Ontario Convention Center, Toyota Arena, and the California Welcome Center at Ontario Mills. From November 15 to December 15 donations of new, unwrapped socks for men, women, and children will be accepted. The socks will be donated to the Foothill Family Shelter.
One of the most requested items by our homeless community is socks" said Michael Krouse, President and CEO. "We have the opportunity to provide a drop off place at our venues during this busy time of the year and we hope everyone joins us in making a donation."
Employees of the venues will join in the efforts, along with the attendees of several events during the holidays. Donation boxes will be available at the following:
- 12/3 - Tree Lighting Ceremony at Ontario Town Square
- 12/10 - Christmas on Euclid Craft Fair and Festival at Ontario Town Square
Businesses and service clubs are invited to gather donations for drop off at any of the venues or events. Travelers Aid at Ontario Airport has already committed to participate. Help our local family shelter with a donation today.
ONTARIO CONVENTION CENTER

TOYOTA ARENA
Toyota Arena, located in Southern California, built and owned by the City of Ontario, managed by SMG Worldwide, continues to win awards for the best entertainment venue in the region. The California Welcome Center is located in Fashion Alley at Ontario Mills – one of the largest tourist destinations in the State of California. Operated by the Greater Ontario Convention & Visitors Bureau, the official destination marketing organization promoting the cities of Ontario and Rancho Cucamonga, California to visitors nationally and internationally. Visitors can learn about the State of California, regional and local points of interest. FAMILY FOOTHILL SHELTER
The mission of Foothill Family Shelter is to assure children and adults a future by helping them acquire skills that will enable them to maintain a home, job and at the same time develop the necessary self-esteem to function as a successful stable adult. Foothill Family Shelter is a nonprofit organization founded in 1984 which houses homeless adults and children for a period of up to 120 days, free of rent and utility charges. We also provide one-year transitional housing as well as extended housing. The Foothill Family Shelter began as St. Mark's Homeless Shelter and currently serves as a transitional facility for homeless adults and children from the west end of San Bernardino County and the east end of Los Angeles County. The Shelter has 7- two bedroom apartments which are fully furnished and offered free for a maximum of 120 days.
