What We're Doing
Toyota Arena is committed to reducing our environmental impact. We do so through ongoing efforts to save energy and water, recycle, purchase environmentally preferable products, and help raise awareness of environmental issues. Here are just a few of the projects we have implemented to minimize our environmental impact:
- Created a recycling program for glass, plastic, aluminum, cardboard, paper and more
- Became first U.S. professional hockey arena to make ice using recycled water and switched cooling towers over to recycled water, which collectively saves an estimated 5 million gallons of potable water annually
- Installed more efficient tankless water heaters, which have cut the amount of energy we use to create hot water by about 50%
- Installed waterless urinals throughout the facility
- Reduced irrigation schedules from four to two days a week
- Created program to purchase recycled-content paper products
